I decided to write out a bit of a contract between us. If he could provide me with two well-fitted suits and three impeccable white shirts, he’d be my man for a number of additional garments. He took my measurements in an underground parking lot, which was definitely the rarest place I’ve ever had it done, but no matter, we wanted to get it right and hadn’t much time.
The suiting fabrics were from Barbera and Loro Piana, and the shirting from his partners at Alumo. I had one of the shirts made with a club collar with pin holes for the occasional time I like to pull out one of my collar pins.
I had Andrew ship them to Dubai, where I thought the Loro Piana suit, made in a lighter weight material, would be useful. The fit was very consistent with my “new” body and I did not hesitate to make additional orders. The GBP to CDN Dollar conversion was definitely added value for me.
Andrew has now made me five suits, three jackets, and countless shirts. I have become quite fond of pocket silks and have purchased quite a few from him over the last three years. We have also added a few ties along the way. We have employed a number of different fabrics and twists to ensure that I can travel “well”.
Andrew’s selection of fabrics are excellent, and my favourite piece has to be one of my jackets made with Harris Tweed.
There are more garments left to be made before Andrew and my little “contract” is closed-out, but as an avid collector, you can never have too many of a good thing."
